Go Orange Day

31st March

For Go Orange Day the Independent lifeboat Crews of the United Kingdom will be joining forces to raise awareness for the Local Lifeboat stations that operate outside the auspices of the RNLI.

What are the independent units doing on this day?

Throughout the UK these units are arranging events and collections to celebrate their cause. Local and National media have been contacted and all known methods are being used to highlight these lifeboat stations. But as always they rely on the generosity of the public to make the day a success.

We need YOUR Support!

Arrange a fundraising event for your local Independent Lifeboat crew.

SO WHAT CAN YOU DO?

  • Get your business or school to wear an orange piece of clothing for the day.
  • Hold an “Orange” bobbing contest.
  • Sponsor someone to sit in a bath of “orange” baked beans.
  • Hold a coffee and cake morning.
  • Hold a Hawaiian party evening wearing bright orange!
  • Wear an orange ribbon in support.
  • Arrange a collection in your local community for your local independent lifeboat.
  • Hold a sponsored event: walk…silence…swim….run…anything that raises funds.
  • Allow the lifeboat crews to visit your premises and collect!

Whatever you do on the days, have fun! Remember that any funds you raise will be donated directly to your local independent lifeboat, ensuring that your money will stay in your area!

We want everyone to know we are INDEPENDENT and need funding to help keep us going.

If you visit the coast on a day out or holiday you never know when you may need to call upon the Lifeboat Volunteers!
